Colorful Chef Clothing – Yes or No?
A common controversial topic among professional chefs is whether or not it’s appropriate to use too much coloring in chef coats, chef jackets and other cooking attire. The main arguments against this notion have come from people concerned with the tidiness of a chef, as well as traditionalists who believe that white is the commonly associated color with the chef’s profession.
And while it’s true that chef coats and chef jackets are much more easier to maintain in a good condition when they’re completely white, this doesn’t really mean that it’s inappropriate to use some coloring in their designs. Actually, it’s becoming more and more common to see interesting patterns imprinted on chef jacket designs, and in general a lot of play on colors and visuals.
Chef aprons are also subject to such debate, though not to such a large extent – according to most, it’s more appropriate for chef aprons to feature different colorful patterns and interesting designs, as they’re easier to clean and such implementations don’t affect them negatively so much. Thus, you can nowadays see various interesting designs on the market, some even lacking any white shades at all.
And of course, women’s chef jackets are no exclusion when it comes to discovering interesting color combinations – even though most women’s chef jackets still come in traditional white designs, you can still find plenty of interesting ideas that feature accents of warmer colors – though in the end, the idea still remains to make the jacket as easy to clean as possible.
