Factors Affecting Job Trends
There are four main factors that influence job trends.
Economic growth. The economic growth of a country means that more people are employed and have more money to spend. Manufacturers and companies respond to any increase in business activity by making investments to meet further customer demands. Thus, new jobs are created.
Technology. New technology in production, distribution, and sales affect the skills needed and the type of jobs available. For instance, the use of computers in the workplace means there is a high demand for computer programmers, developers, and IT experts.
Demographics. Population characteristics like gender and age determine the demand of products and services.
Consumer behavior. Needs and wants of people change throughout time, and this is determined by the amount of money they earn, the amount of leisure time they have, and their changing tastes.
